Correction: Remember the squirrel picture last week on April Fool’s Day? I attributed it to the wrong person – thanks to JamesD for starting April out with a giggle.
A variety of pics to share with you today. We’ll start with another pic by JamesD of a male and female Mallard dabbling for food (Mallards are considered Dabbling Ducks). I get a kick out of these multi-shot in one frame images. If I had one wish it would have been to include a shot of both birds on the surface so all four possibilities (male up/female down, male down/female up, male down/female down, male up/female up) were shown.
Continuing with a recent theme of closeups, here’s one of a Cattle Egret by Birdygirl. How did she get this angle? Was it sitting on the back of a cow?
Finally, a great reflection shot of a Black-necked Stilt by Bajadreamer. It’s entitled “A Sad Story” which is about the lake where the shot was taken. Click the pic and read the story of yet another area where birds’ habitat is vanishing.
