GBP Members’ Bird Photography Showcase – 9/4/24

Here we go again with some of the most recent GreatBirdPics shared by our members.  Enjoy!

Bajadreamer shares with us a Flame-Colored Tanager from Brazil.  He says that the area he was in has lot of isolated pockets of birds so they evolve quite differently than their tanager cousins elsewhere.

Down to New Zealand to view a beautiful shot of one of Rebecca Bowater’s favorite subjects – a Tui.  Such a beautiful bird!  (Extra Credit – can you recall its nickname?  The white tuft on its chest gives a hint).

Now we zoom back up to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula where Bajadreamer was out in 20 degree weather with 6″ of snow on the ground taking a photograph of a male and female Downy Woodpecker on the same trunk.  Well done!
