Time again to enjoy some of the GreatBirdPics recently submitted by our members. Take a look:
Asteinmann captured this male Belted Kingfisher (the female is the one with the rust-colored breast band), which I have found hard to do. They are very skittish and fly off before I can get close to one. Good job!
Take a look at approximately 800 Bar-tailed Godwits landing in New Zealand. As you recall they migrate from Alaska to New Zealand every year – what a feat! Thanks for Rebecca Bowater for the amazing shot.
My what a yellow eye you have! Paul Demkovich shared this shot of a Yellow-eyed Junco in Mexico.
Fall is a great time to see some very interesting sparrows. Some migrate through and others stick around for the winter. Mikeaff captured this beautiful image of a Harris’s Sparrow just north of Chicago.
