Our Bird Photograph of the Week was taken by Emil Baumbach. Illinois has been visited by a couple of Scissor-tailed Flycatchers the past few years and this one is notable because it has stuck around, and when seen it usually perches up nicely. I went up to the site last Friday with no luck. Emil went on Saturday and came away with this GreatBirdPic. I was so jealous I went back on Sunday and found it. Still, Emil’s shot is the best I’ve seen, showing the bright red-orange beneath the wings. A great looking rare bird.
