A Beautiful Walk
Some of you might have noticed that this email comes later than usual. We have had a string of absolutely beautiful fall days lately and today was no exception. I had to get out and take advantage of the sunlight; today’s email had to wait.
I walked down a trail at Greene Valley that I knew would have good morning sun – it was to my back most of the way down the path (important for photography). I saw a nice variety of birds but what struck me was the beauty of the day. The bushes along the trail were filled with berries; some white, some purple, and others red. Leaf colors ranged from pale green, to yellow, to bright red. At one point I just stood there and took it all in; the colors burst out of the plants and against the deep blue sky they were nothing less than spectacular. I felt a sense of serenity as I soaked in the colors, smelled the fresh air, and listened to the birds all around me. I thought about taking a picture but frankly a picture could not convey the serene feeling which surrounded me. My only regret was that Karen was not there to share it with me (girls’ weekend away).
In Illinois we take advantage of as many fall sunny mornings as we can because we know the grays of winter are around the corner. Until then GreatBirdPics emails may be delayed.
Stay Safe. Go Birding. Enjoy being outside. Take Pics. Share Here. Repeat.
