Today’s three pictures all have something in common – can you spot what it is?
Our first shot is by Kaur showing the “changing of the guard” in a Pileated Woodpecker nest – the female arrives and the male takes off.
Our second shot is of a Pyrrhuloxia (after three times to Arizona I still can’t pronounce it). The Pyrrhuloxia is a species related to the cardinal.
Our final clue to today’s theme is of a Painted Bunting, one of the most colorful birds seen in the U.S. Thanks to asteimann for sharing it with us.
If you haven’t guessed by now, our theme today is, “Birds with red on them”. Can you name 417 more species with red on them?
