What’s Wrong With This Pic? Operator Error
Last week I shared this Semipalmated Sandpiper walking along the rocks in the channel through Holland State Park. A GreatBirdPic with lots going on, but did you find the flaw?
The left leg is blurry. Not an earth-shattering flaw given all that is going on, but if you clicked on the picture and looked at the camera settings you would have seen that the picture could have been better. The shot was taken at 1/500th of a second. Since the ISO was only 160 I could have increased my shutter speed much higher thereby increasing the chance that I could have captured the leg with no blurriness.
When there is a lot of light and a lot of movement be sure to set your shutter speed to at least 1/1000th of a second to freeze the motion.
