What a great week it’s been! I was so excited to see that Xwinger’s offer of $100 to the winner of our Birds Eating photo contest brought in over 120 submissions – some from GreatBirdPics members we haven’t heard from in a while (keep them coming!) All the activity made me think that we should do more contests in the future. In the meantime, let’s complete this one.
GreatBirdPics is proud to announce that Bajadreamer’s photo titled, “Ants are his thing” is the winner of our first photo contest – and $100. After looking at yesterday’s Honorable Mentions I’m sure you can understand why our decision was so difficult. However when you look closely at this shot you’ll see why it was the overall winner. The composition is wonderful as it shows the bird prominently but also include the interesting limbs it is perched on with the bromeliad behind. Its tongue snakes out to capture the ant walking down its beak. A wonderful photograph overall and a worthy winner of our first photo contest. Congratulations Bajadreamer!
