All In Favor Say “Owl”

There have been quite a few pictures of owls uploaded to the site lately.  Several from those who trekked all the way north to Duluth, MN to see the Boreal Owl, others spotting them around town.  Here’s a collection of some of the GreatBirdPis I took special notice of:

Our first pic is a Northern Hawk Owl taken by mikeaff.  I love how it was caught banking toward the camera.  Seems like a bright, sunny day – I thought most owls go out at night.

Avneet Kaur captured a Short-eared Owl in flight down in Kentucky.  Lucky guy – we haven’t heard of any SEO reports here in Chicagoland.

Our last two shots were taken by Emil Baumbach when he was up in Two Harbors, MN (near Duluth).  First the rare Boreal Owl that has been hanging out there this winter (he’s been trying for this bird for 10 years – worth the wait).  The second one is of a Great Gray Owl taken in the same area.  Both are spectacular shots!  First rate!
