GBP members with us for a while know I am partial to BIF (Bird In Flight) shots so today I’m featuring two from mikeaff and two from Avneet Kaur. Take a look:
Avneet’s shot of an immature Bald Eagle looks simple at first glance but on closer inspection you’ll see that it was a shot against a gray sky. The bird images in these type of shots are typically dark and featureless whereas Avneet’s picture has captured a lot of detail in the bird. When I have shots like this I increase the Shadows slider in Lightroom to draw in some of bird’s features that are too dark.
mikeaff shared a Northern Harrier coming in a eye-level. He claims it looks “blurred” but I think it looks great!
Here’s another one from mikeaff. He said that this Northern Hawk Owl hovered in place for about a minute! That would have been something to see – which we do through his GreatBirdPic.
Finally this juvenile Ring-billed Gull just taking off from the water. I love seeing the little splashes and spray from where the bird’s feet were just hitting. GreatBirdPic Avneet!
